Over two years have come by since I decided to pry open the bomb shelter that had been sealed since the end of 1973. I was a bit scared at first as of course there was no working electricity and to make it even more fun, here in the valley we are known for a plethora of venomous snakes, etc. After getting over the shock of seeing how much refuse was piled in the shelter (you can see a bit in the photos) I got to work-hauling buckets up the steep stairs, sifting, photographing the process, casting the objects I chose in bronze, and now finally photographing the pieces in the JFAP studio in Jerusalem.
Hoping when things get better here to do a small opening for the members back down in the shelter and then – well one can only hope – on to another venue!!
