Have recently moved back into our remodeled home and have started making new Mezuzot for all our doors – spending lots of time carving them out of stone – sealed behind my carving mask – goggles and heavy gloves – suddenly it dawns on me how the first ‘Mezuzot’ were made to avert the well known Biblical Plague that was striking down the firstborns in Egypt – and here I am a few thousand years later –  another deadly plague – this one not so picky – and today  I am affixing Mezuzot on my doorposts – hoping the angel of death will “Pass-Over” my home!

It worked then – maybe today- it seems one can only hope!
